Collection: Opolis

We are a proud purveyor of Opolis Optics. Founder James Merrill was inspired to develop Opolis after his decade of experience as an USAID contractor. He saw first-hand how single-use plastic degraded natural resources, impacted low-income communities, and wanted to figure out how to make it a commodity rather than waste. 

Today, Opolis uses plant based and rPET plastic that would have ended up in the ocean as up-cycled material for durable goods like sunglasses. The brand is also intentional about sourcing plastic for reuse, creating jobs in Kenya, Indonesia, and the Phillippines. James and Opolis want to empower consumers to take accountability and research products' supply chains to determine if it aligns with their own definition of sustainability. To date, Opolis has pulled more than 350,000 water bottles out of the ocean.
